Spoiler Warning for Wonder Woman 1984! Wonder Woman 1984 came out on Christmas Day on HBO Max and in theaters. I loved it,
but it was a lot less like the more realistic recent superhero movies like Spider-Man: Far From Home
and Joker. It felt more like a continuation of the 70’s Wonder Woman show than the 2017 Wonder Woman movie. It was a lot more campy and colorful unlike the serious and dark tone of the earlier DC movies. It was still a very amazing movie though. The special effects, acting, set design, and costume design looked amazing. I loved the movie, I would even rank it above the first Wonder Woman movie, but the plot holes really hurt the movie. Without the plot holes,
I would easily place the Dark Knight on a DC movie tier list (do the form on the homepage if you want a superhero movie tier list).
Some of the bigger plot holes are that there seems to be no after effects of the wishing rock and Maxwell Lord and that there is no downside to Barbara Minerva’s wish. Something that I’m scared DC is going to do is use the wishing as an excuse for more villains.
This happened in CW’s The Flash where they use the particle accelerator as an excuse for all of the villains getting their powers.
It is Lazy writing and makes all the villains seem less unique. Wonder Woman 1984 is a great movie with some plot holes, 4.5 stars.
